Rich Roll, (the vegan ultra endurance athlete and podcast super host), along with his wife Juile Piatt, (vegan chef, mother of 4 and Yogi) created The PlantPower Way. What I love about this cook book is not only the recipes, which happen to be the actual meals that their all plant based family enjoys, but the loads of valuable plant information.  Plus the pictures make you hope they’d adopt you.

The Food Babe Way

  Do you get confused when you turn over a box to read the ingredients and it reads like a foreign language? I know I sure did. To your rescue is Vani Hari, aka The Food Babe. Vani has made it her mission to exploit the big food companies over the deception of what exactly is in the food you eat. This book will not only make you a skilled label reader but you never choose to eat processed food again.


As children we are told not to jump from the bridge just because everyone else is doing it. But as adults we are encouraged to do just that. The Art of Non-Conformity by blogger and entrepreneur Chris Guillebeau, explains that you don’t have to live your life the way others may expect you to. You can be great, do great things, and give back all be setting your own rules. I wish this book was written 10 years ago.

If you have a question about how a plant based diet can prevent disease than this is the book for you. Michael Greger is also the brilliant man behind the website
